In Q1 2024 Meta launched support for videos in Advatange+ (DPA) campaigns on Facebook and Instagram. By using animated templates which are then rendered to videos you'll now be able to provide custom video ads for every product in your catalog.

Your videos use animated graphics and all the regular templating and content generation that re:nable supports to render a custom video for each product.

You can include background music, embedded background videos or even AI written voice scripts with text-to-speech to pitch each particular product.

Creating animated templates

We have provided a number of examples of animated template that you can start from and then customize by changing some colors and graphics.

  • Go to the Templates page and create a new template by pressing the (+) button on the lower right corner.

  • Pick one of the "Animated .." templates to start from.

  • You can play the animation to selecting one of the sizes, then showing the "Timeline" and pressing the play button.

  • Modify the colors, graphics and content as desired and publish the new template.

Using animated templates in Channels

The channels that uses this video should have both an image and one or more videos attached for each product. Each product still needs a product image, which can be for example a templated image as might already be set up already on your channels.

You can add one or more "video/url" fields to the channel, in order to render different video sizes. Typical sizes are 1080x1920 for Story formats on Facebook/Instagram, and 1080x1080 for other placements. Meta will automatically pick the correct size depending on the placement.

Create a new channel

  1. Create a new channel and pick "Meta Advantage+ feed with animated videos" as the type.

  2. Select a product set. Start with a small product set of just one or a few products, in order to not cause unecessary video generations while you're experimenting with the animated template.

  3. Remove all the existing placeholders from the "video/url" field and add a new "Video template" placeholder.

  4. Pick the animated template and size you'd like to render.

  5. Mark the placeholder as "Allow value to be missing". This will leave this field empty without triggering a warning, in case some product is missing the required content. In these cases Meta will fallback to show the image instead.

Modify an existing channel

  1. Create a new field in one of your channels with type Video and name it "video/url".

  2. Add a "Video template" placeholder to that field.

  3. Pick the animated template and size you'd like to render.

  4. Mark the placeholder as "Allow value to be missing". This will leave this field empty without triggering a warning, in case some product is missing the required content. In these cases Meta will fallback to show the image instead.

Setting up campaigns on Facebook/Instagram

Create a new Advantage+ campaigns and a static image ad. Meta will automatically show one of the videos instead of the image whenever it can.

A note about the cost of video generation

The various features in our platform consume computing power, which is our cost for delivering the service to you. Some features, like video generation, require a lot of computing power, and are thus more expensive for us to run. Our Pricing Tiers have been set generously, based on a reasonable usage of all features for each Tier’s number of products. However, repetitive and extended misuse of our platform will cause significant overspending, which may, in worst cases, block further product processing for your account. If that happens, you will be notified. Read more about how to avoid overuse in our pricing FAQ, under the question "How can I reduce my cost?".
